The Senior Alliance Information and Assistance Team

The Senior Alliance, the Area Agency on Aging for Region 1-C in the Wayne County area, helps caregivers make a loved one’s home safer through its free Information and Assistance (I&A) Team. For families worried about falls and hazards, an Information & Assistance Specialist is the central place to start finding help.

Specialists assess each situation and connect families to home-safety supports, including in-home help, medical equipment, and home-modification resources, along with the agency’s other services such as meal delivery and transportation. The Senior Alliance also offers the Caregiving Haven platform, which includes practical resources and a customizable caregiver binder to help families organize home-safety and care information. Because falls are the leading cause of injury among older adults, reducing home hazards is one of the most effective ways to protect independence, and a single contact can connect families to assessments, equipment, and programs that may help cover costs.
