About this resource
Be Our Guest Adult Day Service (BOGADS), a program of the Livingston County Catholic Charities, is a structured day program for individuals living with dementia, Alzheimer’s, and other chronic conditions such as Parkinson’s and Lewy Body Disease. It provides a safe, nurturing environment where participants can spend their day engaged and cared for — while their family caregivers get the relief they need to work, rest, or attend to their own lives.
The program is rich with enrichment activities designed to stimulate the mind, body, and spirit: art and music therapy, cooking, chair exercises, games, brain exercises, gardening, pet therapy, and laughter therapy. Beyond the daily program, BOGADS supports the whole family with individualized care plans, specialized support, referrals to community resources, and flexible, affordable sliding-scale fees so cost is less of a barrier. It also hosts a caregiver support group that meets the first and third Wednesday of each month from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. via Zoom, giving caregivers a regular space for connection and guidance.
This resource matters because adult day services are one of the most effective forms of respite available, allowing caregivers to sustain employment and well-being while keeping their loved one out of full-time facility care. For Livingston County families managing memory loss or chronic illness, BOGADS combines compassionate daily care with practical support. Caregivers can call 517-545-5944 for program information or email Monica@LivingstonCC.org to join the support group.
