AgeWays Information and Assistance Team

AgeWays Nonprofit Senior Services, the Area Agency on Aging for Region 1-B in southeast Michigan, operates an Information and Assistance (I&A) Team that is the free, central front door to its services — including assistive technology and medical equipment that help older adults remain safely in their homes.

I&A specialists assess each caller’s needs and connect them to the right programs: the MI Choice Medicaid Waiver for fully covered in-home care, personal care and homemaking, nutrition programs, adult day services, respite, transportation, medical equipment, caregiver support, and benefits counseling. As the designated Area Agency on Aging, AgeWays knows the providers and programs available across its six counties — Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, and Washtenaw — and can match families to them efficiently.
