Region VII AAA Information and Assistance Team

Region VII Area Agency on Aging helps caregivers in east-central Michigan find respite — temporary relief care — through its free Information and Assistance (I&A) Team. With more than 50 years serving seniors, the agency knows the respite and caregiver-support options available across its ten-county region and can guide families to relief.

An Information and Referral specialist assesses each caregiver’s situation and connects them to respite available through programs such as the MI Choice Medicaid Waiver and the agency’s caregiver supports, which also include caregiver training, care management, and workshops. Respite may take the form of in-home coverage, an adult day program, or a short-term stay. The agency serves Bay, Clare, Gladwin, Gratiot, Huron, Isabella, Midland, Saginaw, Sanilac, and Tuscola counties, with each county also offering a local Department or Commission on Aging for access.
