About this resource

Region VII Area Agency on Aging has helped seniors live independently for more than 50 years, and its Information and Assistance (I&A) Team is the free starting point for older adults, people with disabilities, and caregivers across east-central Michigan who need to find services — including assistive technology and equipment that support safe, independent living.

By calling an Information and Referral specialist, families can describe their situation and be connected to the appropriate programs: nutrition and in-home assistance, caregiver training, care management, financial and legal guidance, health and wellness support, Medicare/Medicaid help, the MI Choice Medicaid Waiver, and support groups and workshops. The agency serves ten counties — Bay, Clare, Gladwin, Gratiot, Huron, Isabella, Midland, Saginaw, Sanilac, and Tuscola — and each county also has a dedicated Department or Commission on Aging office for local access.

This resource matters because knowing that help exists is not the same as knowing how to get it, and an I&A specialist bridges that gap, turning a daunting search into a quick, guided connection. For caregivers in the Region VII service area exploring assistive technology or any other support, the I&A Team is the natural first call. Reach an Information and Referral specialist at 1-800-858-1637, or contact the main office at 1615 South Euclid Avenue, Bay City.
