CareWell Services Durable Medical Equipment

CareWell Services Southwest, the Region 3B Area Agency on Aging for Calhoun and Barry counties, operates a Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Closet that offers loans or gifts of clean, sanitized, recycled medical equipment at no cost to community members. As part of the agency’s care-management and caregiver support, it helps families obtain the equipment a loved one needs without the high cost of buying new.

The DME Closet provides mobility aids such as crutches, canes, walkers, and wheelchairs, along with incontinence supplies and other donated items as available. The program serves community members without specified eligibility restrictions based on age, insurance status, or income, and everything is completely free. CareWell also accepts donations of lightly used equipment, keeping usable items in circulation and out of landfills.
