AAA Northwest MI 10 Information and Assistance Team

The Area Agency on Aging of Northwest Michigan (AAANM), serving Region 10, operates an Information and Assistance (I&A) Team that serves as the free, central starting point for older adults, people with disabilities, and caregivers seeking help — including guidance on assistive technology and equipment that support independence at home.

I&A specialists take the time to understand each caller’s circumstances and then connect them to the appropriate resources, whether that’s in-home care, the MI Choice Medicaid Waiver, nutrition programs, evidence-based wellness classes, caregiver support, or devices that improve safety and mobility. Rather than leaving families to navigate a confusing patchwork on their own, the team provides a knowledgeable guide who knows what’s available across the region and how to access it. AAANM has served its communities since 1974 and covers ten counties: Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix, Emmet, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau, Manistee, Missaukee, and Wexford.
