AAA 3A Information and Assistance Team

The Area Agency on Aging Region 3A, serving Kalamazoo County, helps caregivers find respite — temporary relief care — through its free Information and Assistance (I&A) Team. For caregivers in need of a break, the I&A Team is the central starting point for arranging relief.

I&A specialists assess each caregiver’s situation and connect them to respite available through the agency’s programs, including respite services and voucher programs that help cover the cost of respite, dental, and food assistance. Respite may take the form of in-home coverage, an adult day program, or a short-term stay, and it sits within a broader set of supports such as home-delivered meals, transportation, medical equipment, community case management, and the Choices for Independence initiative for residents 60 and older.
